A Big Sky AI project

Ralph

A custom personal AI assistant for private “friends and family” groups. No app, no account, no instruction manual. Use the communications tools you already have on your phone and just text him, and he texts back.

Everybody talks about AI. Ralph texts back.

Ralph is a personal AI assistant who lives on a computer in Montana and works for a small community of family and friends. He answers in the same thread where you plan dinners and share dog photos—usually within a minute or two, occasionally with homework of his own.

He exists because of a simple observation: AI was suddenly everywhere except where it could quietly be useful. The demos were dazzling and the headlines were loud, but almost nobody had an assistant that actually knew them—their pool equipment, their exam schedule, their dog. So Big Sky AI set one up. One assistant, a couple dozen people, and a standing invitation to bring him your oddly specific problems.

The name? He's borrowed from Springfield's sunniest citizen—a daily reminder that cheerful beats impressive. Our Ralph is patient, thorough, and completely unbothered by questions that start with “this might be silly, but.” Those are his favorites.

Research

Getting ready to make a big purchase, and need some help? Ralph helps you identify the requirements that matter, and narrows the list of choices for you.

02

Create

Photo edits, images, drafts, and ideas—shaped through cheerful iteration until they look the way you imagined.

03

Coach

Exam prep, new skills, tricky homework. Ralph figures out where the learner is first, then adapts the lesson to match.

04

Operate

Hand him the specs and the goal. Get back settings, schedules, and a next step you can actually test.

No magic. Good parts.

  1. A brain

Ralph thinks with the same frontier AI models behind the world's leading assistants. When better ones arrive, he upgrades—and stays Ralph.

  2. A memory

He keeps notes, so the third conversation about your project is smarter than the first. No re-explaining yourself from scratch.

  3. A pair of hands

He can search the web, work with photos and documents, keep schedules, and quietly check on things while you sleep.
